Empirical Capital Corp. (“Empirical”) is a boutique commercial real estate lender that was founded in May 2017.

Empirical specializes in providing land financing that allows borrowers to acquire land for residential/commercial development, perform pre-development site servicing, and refinance while awaiting development approval.

Empirical’s objective is to build a reputation as the lender of choice for small- to medium-sized developers by applying the appropriate combination of borrower support with lending practices shaped by experience and insight into real estate values and structuring alternatives in workout situations, while generating strong yields to investors.

The President and CEO, Abby Strahl, has 20 years of experience as the executive Vice President of a prominent family office in Toronto where he managed the affairs of the family office including an investment portfolio with an allocation to commercial/residential mortgages.
